Calaveras County participates in the Medi-Cal managed care system. If you have Medi-Cal, your health care services are provided through one of two Managed Care Plans (MCPs) in our county:
- Anthem Blue Cross
- Health Net
Your Managed Care Plan is responsible for coordinating your medical care and certain specialty services, including Community Supports and Enhanced Care Management (ECM) when eligible.
Shared responsibility for care coordination
Both Calaveras County and the Managed Care Plans have an active role in supporting Medi-Cal members. The County works in close partnership with Anthem Blue Cross and Health Net to collaborate, coordinate services, share information appropriately, and ensure continuity of care for individuals receiving behavioral health and other supportive services.
This collaboration helps reduce duplication, improve access to care, and support seamless transitions between services.
How do I know which plan I have?
Your Managed Care Plan is listed on your Medi-Cal insurance card. If you are unsure, you can contact your plan directly or reach out to Calaveras County Behavioral Health Services for assistance.
Why does this matter?
Some services — including care coordination, housing-related supports, and other enhanced benefits — are provided through Managed Care Plans, while others are delivered by the County. Coordination between the County and your Managed Care Plan helps ensure you receive the right services at the right time.
If you have questions about your coverage or need help connecting to services, please contact Calaveras County Behavioral Health Services.
